My Daughter's Dress was launched Tuesday, December 26th, 2017, but all started in October 2017 when I started collecting dresses as donations. I was thinking to myself and talking with my husband about how ridiculously expensive formal dresses are. I thought how cool would it be if girls and women could get special occasion dresses without the huge price tag. My heart was broken when one of my teenage daughter's friends could not attend homecoming because her parents did not have money to purchase her a dress. This just was not right and didn't sit well with me. That's when I took to a local mom's group on Facebook and asked if anyone would be interested if I started an organization to donate and find formal dresses and the likes and comments went crazy! I had my answer! We need this! There is nothing like this! Here we are 5 years later with our own boutique all while having moved 3 locations already due to our growth, providing very low-cost formal dresses, shoes and accessories to girls, and women in the community of Yorkville and all surrounding communities including some surrounding Midwest states to Illinois! We continue to work with other local organizations to make sure no one goes without a dress shoes and accessories for their special occasions. We are thankful for the support of our amazing dress sponsors, and community.
